I like the Beth, Simon, Cam, Kevin storyline, it really lets you feel the unity between struggeling non competing artists that must be there, who just keep getting screwed by the system.

oh it is written as sharp, and i would say it has a better first few episodes, though your milage might vary. I would personally just watch both at the same time if you can manage it timewise. though you might want to wait for AVclub classic coverage, which I think i have read in the comments somewhere is coming…

Yeah love all the GG alums as well, even if ASP is setting her show up for even more comparisons with GG/ reminding people of GG, which could be problematic. I also don't quite understand why people see Michelle as basically Lorelai, since at most Michelle is what Lorelai would have been if she hadn't had Rory.

I don't think there are any shows which would have trouble passing the Reverse-Bechdel Test, at least non that are of any quality at all. I'm slowly falling in love with this show (though gilmore girls was love at first sight for me).

the seriousness of the subject matter might also have had a lot to do with it. I mean this wasn't about some guy lying about some statistics, but rather a situation where peoples health and lives might depend on how close they are to the fukushima plants.

I think it was in reply to will pointing out that christians have done all sorts of violent things in the past, like the KK ect, and that one shouldn't think all muslims are violent because of 9/11.
