If by "Witch Metal" you mean "Witching Metal," Sodom already did it in the early 1980s.

Hammerheart is tied with the self-titled for my favorite Bathory album. They both rule so fucking hard, but in significantly different ways.

I was ready to be disappointed by the lack of Pagan Altar love, so I was delighted to see other people who are fans. Pagan Altar's debut is one of my favorite albums of all time, and I actually prefer it to anything Maiden ever released (although Powerslave comes close for me).
Incoming cool story: the first time I

@avclub-5171864ab150444a2bcff2d4c52d3064:disqus That's why I'm voting for Vlad III!

625 Thrashcore consistently puts out harsh and ugly shit and the man who runs it cannot be thanked enough.

You did, indeed, get fucked hard. I feel for you, man.

Sorry for the late reply, but no. I live in Lincoln, Nebraska, so I rarely get good bands through here. The last one I remember coming through was Overkill a year or two ago, but I wasn't old enough to get in at the time.

Noothgrush is indeed awesome and I was also excited for their releases last year. I have the first two versions of Erode the Person (the 1999 for compilation and the 2006 rerelease), so I was interested to see that they were releasing another album with the same name.

GWAR/Municipal Waste/Ghoul are coming to my hometown in March! I've already bought tickets.

Oh shit yeah, Timeghoul rules. I can't wait to get my hands on official release of the demos.

I would have posted a year end favorites list yesterday but I didn't have time. Instead, I will simply note my serious disappointment that no-one mentioned the new Esoteric album, which was pretty great.

It's kind of like Heinlein's "—All You Zombies—." Through time travel (and sexual reassignment surgery), she is her own mother and father.

I'm really glad to know that the Xenomorph album has been reissued. They were a fairly local band, but it's still a pain in the ass trying to track down a copy.

I also wanted to throw my support behind the new Wolvhammer. I don't actually have Black Marketeers of World War III, but I do have their first demo and EP, and The Obsidian Plains is, in my opinion, a big improvement on them. That's not to say I dislike the demo and EP, I just think The Obsidian Plains has much

I normally have closed captioning on, and at one point during the fart-based communication sequence, it said "[confused fart]." It's sad that that was the highlight of the episode.

Haven't heard much new metal this year, but I enjoyed Dolorvotre's self-titled debut. Dolorvotre is one of these new "Black Twilight Circle" bands from California that, in my mind at least, are trying to be the new, American version of the old Black Legions from France. I also thought Enslaved's EP, The Sleeping Gods,

I guess I'm going to have to be the one to point out that the troll misspelled dreidel.
