I think this movie would be awesome if "bloody spree" wasn't a killing rampage, but was either a very unforutnate period or Kevin just wanders around town, accidentally bleeding from a flesh wound on different things: a fancy wedding cake, lab test results, a girl he likes, etc.

Agreed with hulk. The clip takes the joke out and then says "See how unfunny this is?"

I'm confused
and also embarassed that I don't know Garry Shandling. Is he an alternate universe version of Larry Sanders? They look very similar from that small thumbnail. That must've come up in discussion if they were on the same show. Their names almost even rhyme!

I got what CGC meant early on (though that is a bit more obscure of a reference), but it wasn't nearly til Hank took the comic out of its packaging that I got it's significance. Hatred's bullet hitting the comic with the value dropping was the first clue.

A lot of comic fans still know that heroes like The Human Torch and The Sub-Mariner appeared in that issue. I don't think there were super obscure references (though if they had done something like matching scenes with panels from that comic, oh god the nerd cred….)

I took it as the explosion embedding H.E.L.P.eR. in Brock's chest, similar to Iron Man's situation. It makes more sense since H.E.L.P.eR. apparently still could access his helicopter functions and potentially harm Brock.

Wasn't a line, but the monetary figure dropping as soon as Hank took the comic out was great. He's a complete DC fanboy.

I love Metalocalypse too, but it doesn't seem to be progressing the story much. Last season tread water as far as the background story of "Will this band cause the apocalypse?". It'd be hard to recap that show without detailing the jokes and nothing else.

I assumed it was payment for ruining his comic? This might be one of the few details that's explain later.
