I'm curious to see what Fuller says in this weeks walkthrough as there's no way Todd doesn't bring this up, right?

I understand why you'd feel disappointed. My initial reaction wasn't strongly negative, but… It took me a little bit of processing to figure out what they're doing (the preview at the end of the episode helped). If it'd just been as simple as SHE WANTS THE D, I'd be really mad too.

A screencap from the threesome bit was posted by Bryan Fuller on twitter this morning. Tumblr (of course) pointed out the similarity between the two threesomes basically immediately. In fact, some people were so desperate to find ways for the threesome to not be literally real (which of course it wouldn't be) that

Yeah, of course. Or she could order some of Stephen Colbert's Formula 401. She decided on Will for her baby daddy. I'm okay with it as long as next week really heavily underlines that she's not attracted to him. This is just half of her plan to end up Queen Verger in that crazy goddam castle they live in.

I feel safe assuming Chilton is done for the season at least and will show back up next year with a cool scar assuming Esparza's available. I would love for it to become a running gag that Chilton just gets completely fucked up in some horrible way each season until he eventually gets et by Hannibal.

I think his response while flippant there (and less so in other tweets) is valid. The show will need to really make this clear next week (which the preview suggests they will)… But sleeping with one dude for procreation is enough to keep this from being the "lesbian wants a dude" cliche. She didn't want Will, really.

Hannibal was totally thinking about Will. Hence the connection.

We'll see what they say next week about the ID of the body in the burning wheelchair since in Red Dragon, that's how Freddie gets got.

Nah. She was just doing it to get pregnant and he was thinking about Alana the whole time.

This is what I'm hoping. We'll see soon though, I'd guess. He can't just leave her in that barn in the cold, yeah?

They made several references to her orientation and the need for an heir… and Margot never quite expressed any actual attraction for Will. But that said, I'm glad they made perfectly fucking clear in the preview for next week that she was just sleeping with Will to get pregnant.

"He got a DONK" — Soulja Boy reacting to the new Godzilla

We can but hope.

Fuller's already spoken to that some, I think. He's said that he doesn't like the fact that it seems like book!Margot is gay or even trans because of the abuse she's suffered because, and he's right about this, that's just not how it works.

Esparza's got the chops for it in terms of singing, so I'm completely down for this.

He's a one-dimensional monster in other versions of this stuff… But this show's already done a lot of things that expand/3-dimensionalize characters that weren't so filled out in the books. I look forward to seeing what they do here.

*Lounds' hat films the whole thing, jerks off to it later*

The super freaky sex scene is next week apparently (he's said which episode it is specifically). I think the editing last week was just the show being freaky about the artily filmed ~ride the cannibal~ bit.

There was unequivocally a Hannibloom sex scene last week. I personally would've found it hot… Were it not for the terrifying soundtrack.
