" Or murderer in his own right if Matthew Brown’s death by Jack’s hands can be construed as Will’s fault. "
One of the major turns this week was that Will figured out that he's on a show called Hannibal. The rest of the cast still has no idea…
I … Don't want to answer this directly but look: NBC sends out press releases with official episode summaries. There is one for 2x06 out there if you go looking, and it is SHOCKINGLY spoilery. I'm no saying you should go find that, but I am saying if you do this question might feel answered…
Nah, you're totes right. I've seen it confirmed a few times. The show I've seen mentioned was some Irish crime drama? I can't recall the title. I'm sure he's done other stuff too, of course.
Oh, man. On the one hand: NO WAY is this actual psycho Barney except maybe in extreme reflection. On the other hand… I hadn't even thought about how incredibly awesome it will be if we can get there to see Fuller and co. portray that relationship.
I guess I'll put it this way: Community is in its HIGHLY IMPROBABLE fifth season and its ratings averages are not significantly better than Hannibal so far this season. Community is in a much better timeslot (albeit one with MUCH heavier competition in the form of Big Bang Theory).
I really do think it matters that Hannibal is a notable success in a number of international markets. The financial situation of the show is very different from past Fuller efforts. Yeah, it's low-rated, but it's in a timeslot this season where that's entirely expected.
I haven't seen that one but I can think of ones where that is definitely the vibe. Such a cool topic for an article! Like others have said, I really hope you share this with us. :)
This sounds super interesting. Out of curiosity: Is there anything in it about the Lost "theme"? Not that atonal stuff hasn't been used to freaky unsettling effect before that or since, but that one goddam glissando or whatever as the show's title comes into and out of focus felt like a BIG DEAL for the use of this…
Ah. Understandable. I've been making my peace with it for a couple weeks now. Not that I was POSITIVE it was going to happen or had spoiler knowledge that Beverly was getting got, just that it felt so DOOOOMED that she'd start to believe Will and then oops. I hoped it wouldn't happen! And next week will be super hard…
Ah, excellent! The soundtrack stuff has always been its own kind of weird, but even when it goes super arch like with that awful tube noise from the intubation scene… It felt all of a piece. This felt somehow… Campier almost? I don't mean that negatively. Just that it felt like a noticeable change, and an important…
Literally none. Accept it.
Reading through this again… I wish they'd asked Fuller about the soundtrack for this episode. It felt quite different from the more atonal quality the show's music usually. Lots of weird freaky … organ(?). Not just unsettling clank noises and string weirdness.
ALL I HAVE DONE IS MADE YOU MORE AWARE OF YOUR OWN WEAKNESSES SO THAT YOU CAN OVERCOME THEM AND BECOME MORE PERFECT.
SO THAT YOU HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE SAME SOUL-SEARCHING I DID BEFORE GIVING IN AND DECIDING I'D RATHER KNOW THINGS NOW AND START DEALING WITH MY EMOTIONS NOW INSTEAD OF FLAILING USELESSLY AND YELLING AT THE SHOW LIKE I DID DURING SO MUCH OF TONIGHT'S EPISODE.
I'd guess that the intended audience for press releases like the one in question are people who don't give that kind of a fuck about spoilers. It's not like they mailed it to fans.
That would be horribly rude, and I would deserve every bit of surgical trophy taking that is visited upon me. I also think it would be irresponsible not to provide some sort of… warning? that that answer is out there and might be stumbled across in a way you might expect.
I AM NOW SO THOROUGHLY TERRIFIED OF WHAT NEXT WEEK WILL DO TO MY EMOTIONS.
Regarding the "NEXT WEEK ON" … I saw someone point out on tumblr the other week that there was a scene with a nurse/orderly/whatever at the institution where they're keeping Will where this random person without any lines that was just pushing a cart down a hallway… Was being played by a recognizable (to this person…
