I've read and enjoyed the story but I'm not sure it's working out all that great as a posting gimmick.

Go-go.
I think he has a problem sometimes with hitting the high notes in some of the songs, and you really notice it when you watch them on video. The video from their pitchfork festival show is pretty bad vocal-wise, for example. When you are actually seeing them and you're all sweaty and drunk and so is everyone around…
Isn't there a Lifter Puller song called The Bears? I'm going to have to listen to Half Dead and Dynamite after work, it's been too long.
So is Franz Nikolai! Too bad he left the band, he would have been perfect for a cameo, playing the concertina in a tavern or something.
Yeah, I got the sense he was just talking about lazy music supervisors using Van Morrison in the background, not necessarily criticizing Van Morrison himself.
Yeah, "a bunch of people in clean underwear" really needs to be a thing.
And you get all the great rambling intro monologues! I think Jewels for Sophia is also a pretty good starter.
Honestly, though, is this article just here to try to make Community fans feel better?
Last time I was at the Upfront Theater some guy had a stroke or heart attack or something during the show, they had to stop while paramedics came in. He ended up being OK but it kind of ruined the vibe.
Typo, I think, but a forgiveable one.
Me too. Funny, something about that song made me just assume that it must be the kind of town that bands never actually come out of. Now I have to reevaluate.
I haven't watched the episode yet but I have to observe that the umbrella sticking out of the Red Bull can in that picture is a nice touch.
Ron Fucking Swanson.
Boy, do they ever.
Funny how "opening for strippers" is described as if that were a low point in his performing career. If I ever have that opportunity I'm not going to complain.
Is that a cool place to see a show? I've never been but this might kind of tempt me.
The National playing at The National. That's going to confuse some people.
I think you missed the double entendre.
Somehow I'm guessing the "hold it against me" pun would be hard to translate.
This whole thing vaguely reminds me of my favorite Scandinavian group doing funny covers video, the Porkka Playboys doing Bohemian Rhapsody inside a car. That's worthy checking out on youtube.
