have gay people advanced anymore because they called out tracy morgan? have rape statistics declined since the daniel tosh backlash? there's very little real-world value in "calling out" misogyny in culture, especially in comedy — a field where its critics have often been on the wrong side of history.
and bloggers/pc advocates have twice the self importance as people who actually do help women and fight against the real culprits and victims of misogynistic culture.
I just think it's the laziest form of progressivism
Of course everyone who is crying 'misogyny' at seth macfarlane is helping at womens shelters everywhere and donating to charities right? or do we all just feel superior because we called a joke bad?
it was using two clips edited together in a new context. its like if you stuck together a part of the bible that said 'god' and then another part that says 'says you should kill people' and called it a commandment
yes, "ruins".
WHERE IS THE ENTOURAGE SHROOM TRIP

Films Ebert hated will be taught in schools thirty years from now. Not a single one of his reviews will.

"man, when I think of the great art from the last century, I can't help but think of all the great movie reviews! casablanca isnt NEARLY AS GOOD as the REVIEWS of casablanca! now THOSE were art!"
Fuck you.
Criticism is not art. Art has value when isolated from other art.
Look, I didn't feel great about posting that. It's just the fact that the avclub would write such a more thoughtful and in depth and grandiose obit over a critic than almost any other artist who's ever passed in this site's lifetime … definitely speaks to a bizarre sense of self importance critics have towards each…
The only reason anyone cares about him is because he was on TV. I'll miss him but he never contributed anything, only told us what of other people's contributions were and weren't good.
I think you mean serialized sitcoms. Seinfeld, The Simpsons, Curb, Always Sunny, etc etc etc all had awesome 7+ seasons
"universal recognition level" = white people. dude is the highest grossing stand up in the country
Seth was good. Even if the snarky blog and twitterati did not want to enjoy the host (NO MATTER WHO IT WAS) I thought he did a particuarly good job, especially considering the quality of hosts of recent memory
Where is Dr. Mantis Toboggan?!
