Agreed. The original is one of the more unhinged CGI movies I've ever seen… (remember's Bruce Campbells' half chicken half man character) Nah it's, like, the MOST unhinged.

Loved Oryx and Crake, and just started reading Blind Assassin, which is amazing so far. I can't believe I haven't read much, much more of her stuff.

I thought it was a more satirical message  - like, a joke that, even as we have been getting closer and more sympathetic to Hank lately, he's still a meat head cop at heart who would say things full of contempt for civil liberties.

Yep. I think that hug was heartfelt - but its also very much a kiss of death type scenario.
