Well I think you're getting at something I was stabbing at - that at this point, maybe the only really exciting thing the Simpsons can do is end, and end really well.

Is Chef Goldblum gonna be in it? And can he still turn me gay by taking his shirt off?

In Isla Nublar, Velociraptor gets you!

I thought this said "series finale" and was a little disappointed to realize I misread it. Here's the thing: 1) We all love the Simpsons. 2) We all acknowledge its way over the hill. 3) The best thing to do is just end it on a grace note. I think having some awesome people involved, including a kick ass original

you can pry my appletini from my cold drunk hands.

SLAUGHTER THE PIG

It hurts falling out of love with the Lips, but at least I know I'm not the only one. It was a growing disillusionment, and I think the nail in the coffin was seeing them star in a car commercial (I know, call me naive, but part of me wants my favorite bands to at least PRETEND at some sort of independent / non sell

awesome! thanks for sharing

that bad?

Has anyone mentioned the fact that Pacific Rim trailer features fucking GLADoS!>? Not a GLADoS-like robot voice, they got the same voice actor to do her GLADoS voice. What the fuck?

I wasn't too crazy about the last scene with Ron and Les. It felt like a way to tack on  a little 'heart' onto an episode that wasn't really about much - altho as I've said, I like the gorilla and I hope it sticks around.

Ron better still have that gorilla in future episodes.

I take your point, and I sincerely am not trying to troll you. I'm also interested in the way that our reaction to films over time evolve over time - all I'm saying is, there is a difference between a film that captures the mood of the time, and then time turns against it, and a movie that is just plain bad, like

lots of inevitable Kevin Bacon dick, if I recall

sing with me: all of these things are not like the other
Easy Rider: mixed bag
Graduate: still classic
Big Chill: a historical footnote, a little cheesy at worst
Girls: already very controversial, much hated in its time, is probably breaking ground now and will look merely quaint in a few years
Garden State: fucking

She also has fun hair styles and picks good collaborations (see also: Big Boi). What's not to like?

I feel like… this is revealing something not-so-great about our society. Can't quite put my finger on it…

well, I haven't met any Amish, actually, but Mennonites and sort-of Mennonites seem to be very warm and generous people.
