Local Atlanta flavor:  the snowstorm Rick and Shane talked about really did happen the second week of January in 2011.  Five or six inches of snow (which was bad enough in a city with one or two snowplows) followed by a sheet of freezing rain.  Completely shut the place down for the better part of a week.

Summary: she's basically an airhead, but still pretty cute.

Not surprising, that describes at least half the band's catalog, with both singers… 2-3 good songs and a lot of filler. 

The scene in "Flash Gordon" when Ming tries to bribe Flash over to his side is really quite good, thanks in no small part to the entirely wonderful performance by Max Von Sydow.  Sadly, Sydow's Ming, plus maybe the production design and soundtrack, were the only good things about that movie, and that lonely scene was

So in other words, you really just want to hear really pretentious acts who can't play very well, but are willing to regurgitate your own ideological prejudices back at you.

Let's stipulate that Creed was (is?) a terrible band, and Scott Stapp is an utter douchebag.  No arguments on either point. "Higher" is still a hell of an arena-rock anthem, Stapp-sappy lyrics and all.
