Well, Michael Bay can film one and not the other.  Which one is which…..up to the imagination I suppose.

I'm definitely more of an AT person than RS, but both are top-notch shows.  I think it comes down to the animation being more creative (as previously noted) and the humor being much more off the wall.

Nah. Prussian Blue.

Look up the proposed MTV show Buck Wild.  Takes place about 25 miles from my hometown….makes being from West Virginia even more enjoyable.

Yeah, I gotta say that I like them as well.  I like The Mars Volta a lot more, but ATDI hold a special place for me. And @avclub-b030afbb3a8af8fb0759241c97466ee4:disqus, are we considering Fugazi "post-hardcore"?  I always thought of them as one of the first emo bands, but I do see where the post-hardcore label

Poor Puzo estate…won't be hearing from them no more.

Which is a valid point.  I really, really don't like Pearl Jam but they aren't objectively terrible.

Where did MM come into the conversation?  They haven't released a bad album in my opinion, and most of their albums are great.

Yeah, length and success of a career are not indicators of the quality of a band.  Britney Spears is almost as good as Pearl Jam in that respect.  Like @avclub-b3a2a8592133a41f00f271712390f206:disqus said, I'm not really even comparing the two more as I am pointing out the fact that your argument is flawed.

Asses Shrugged.

We see him trollin', we hatin'….

@avclub-df80f70f60b1c678f8c91696f4a54f5f:disqus, what about Public Enemy? The Roots? I could be missing part of their backstories though.

I felt like I was watching that seizure-inducing Pokemon episode all over again. Damn.

@avclub-4b85256c4881edb6c0776df5d81f6236:disqus is right.  Nothing like self-hatred and misery compounded by the knowledge that we will never meet Ian Curtis.

I would assume it would only be a Novelty ride though…

This was the first one they've ever done here in Morgantown, and after the show they all sat down on the stage and talked to everyone. Got all of their signatures and some great music recommendations from Bob Weston.

Saw Shellac late last year in a bar. Got there two hours early because I was bored. Steve Albini walks in, takes out his Mac, and proceeds to type away about 20 feet from me. Had a nice five minute conversation with the guy, and watched a phenomenal show about an hour from then.

Yeah, I was going to say something about the device. Clarke makes it pretty clear that it's a nuclear weapon of some sort (yes the book and movie are two separate entities, but they were cowritten as companion pieces) and most people who are willing to sit through the movie are going to read the book.

Hell, maybe this will inspire television studios to quit pumping out so much shit. Bebop and Miyazaki-esque animation with the quality storylines of the first installment?
