I'm enjoying this season, and aside from one, maybe two cast members, I was easily able to identify/remember their names from ep 2. Some seasons its all a blur of hot blondes, esp in the three tribes seasons, and all of a sudden in ep 8 I'm meant to care that Ashley is voted out. The theme this season was lame, but

that is such a conundrum - ideally you get a bogeyman to kick out your friends (damn that Bret/Jay/whomever!) - but it takes a lot of finesse to oust your buddies and they still vote for you.

For what its worth I work in film/tv and have worked on a reality ish tv show. Think wine drinking housefraus? So with that kind of thing, there is flexibility in some of the assembly of footage - no one knows or cares if some of the this happens before some of the that. Obvs with Survivor we are locked into a

that would throw the game off its axis. I'd not like that at all.

yeah, when they were "honestly" discussing how they were gunning for each other, and just groaning at the inevitability of a show down at some stage, that to me, is great Survivor. I might be a fantasist but I like the, we know we are going to compete and one will best the other, person to person dynamic.

I think they should go a bit longer, with the first vote off after a decent length of time (6, 7 days?) It makes the "provider" role more significant.

I think it meant more as it was given in private. I mean, how Jay would take it.

I bartended in Texas ages ago and had to take that government night class (one night I think) to get TABC licensed to serve. If memory serves, in Texas, the loopholes for drinking under 21 are if your parent buys it and gives it to you, if your spouse buys it and gives it to you, and possibly something about service

you mean the walk of the dead? I actually liked that for many reasons, including watching the remaining 3 struggle to come up with something to say about so and so…

believe it or not, my cheering for Ken comes from his old school play honestly and (sort of) stick to your people game play.

that woman saying to her husband, "you son of a bitch!" made me laugh out loud.

we must consider, that is the point, maybe? The advantage is a red herring?

I never watch the previews so no comment there, and most likely these Sunday seeds will grow into something, but poking at the point that Sunday thinks she is a threat. I think she thinks she was in danger (true, and I loved that non-strategic, non-cuthroat moment with her and Bret, refreshing in it's, okay we played,

okay, if tihs carries on, I want credit, but she is so Patty from Square Pegs. (Yes, I know who played her). She is so, so geeky that i imagine the producers praying she passed the psych and physical, because she is one of a kind. And after that, Hannah, please leave me alone right now, and she jabbered on, there were

I spend more time than I should thinking about where people hide things in this game.

I'd have - if I was a fan of the game like he says he is - dropped it either down the well or in the path of an enemy. Its a poisoned chalice, he must know that? I wouldn't have told my tribe as all they would hear was… blah… I found something you didn't… TAKE….TAKE… something

if that happened, and it might have/would have ruined the drama, I'd like to know it for the giant arc of the story.

ridiculous stuff, he's in Fiji, he should be able to drink.

crap, long well phrased post disappeared with a brush of my sleeve. Highpoints: I now work in tv, some reality tv. Booze is not provided in nonappropriate situations, but provided occasionally when normal life would dictate. Never, ever is it pushed or suggested or subtly implied by producers. For real. Its not only

I don't like the players that - each time Jeff announces "get your first look at the new XYZ TRibe" - that nod approvingly, like, mmmhmm, that's what I would have done, you're so smart, you lot.
