He drew an incredibly weird, flat-out gonzo career, and he absolutely made the most of it. That said, his biographies paint a very odd picture - especially that there were women lining up to have sex with him because of that ludicrous TV show. The whole thing, series included, sounds surreal
Sorry, I'm still just annoyed that Lucas made a demand, especially given how toyetic SW was. Ugh
That's your "Obama Out" mic drop moment, right there. Funny enough, I wasn't one of the luckiest guys in Boston…
"Okay, I'll let you follow the mandates of Copyright Law as defined by Federal Courts and the US Legislature, but only if you do what I say." Swear to god, that guy would hoard supplies if there's a zombie apocalypse or you're trapped by an avalanche
I bet they sell great helmets
Buckethead emails!!!!

You are… one of the luckiest new yorkers
Sadly true!
Well, I experienced like 6+ on the street or in the subway each year of high school, and I never got into fights. That's not counting what my siblings or parents experienced. I guess you got lucky here.
Then again, this was a Tony Stark that was explicitly meant to appeal to, well, everyone under the age of 50 or so. He's a guy whose existence is lifestyle porn and excess and deep character flaws - Cruise only really played the first two at the start of Jerry Maguire, with a dash of the last part. In other movies,…
I mean, there's something to that. But some of it may have to do with how much some horror films cost. Get Out was pretty cheap, It Follows and some others were cost effective, too. But Summer movies generally = Action Film Time, and elements like that are what the studio may have focused on most.
Absolutely. The studio wants to take no risks so that they can both (a) make tons of money off this one movie AND (b) kick-start a franchise/Cinematic Universe. It's a lot to ask one movie to do, which was why they should've spent their dollars/effort on the writers and directors, instead of hiring one of the biggest…
I think because there's this idea that blockbusters are almost exclusively action, and that action films are what draw people. All the other efforts in the recent past - the various Frankensteins and Dracula and what have you - have all tried to be decent action films, instead of being scary or creepy movies that…
Oh, definitely, and it was meant to be tough and horrific, like an analogue version of the first Matrix. What was depressing was the treatment of (what was obviously meant to be) the lower class as nothing more than chattel, and not even very valuable chattel, at that. It was worse than dehumanization.
He did well for himself in Tropic Thunder, but it's true that he's seldom done comedy. Even Tropic Thunder was the kind of stunt casting that an actor should be able to lose himself in
Hey, those bags KNOW what they did!
I hope the dogs get a better afterlife than their owners
You guys are making me blush! It's true, we are the best! But mostly because it's dangerous, violent, and shitty here, which really tests your mettle
