in brief, she's a country singer whose music, like that of most country singers these days, doesn't sound anything like country music, and only differentiates itself from regular old pop music by calling itself "country" and *maybe* showing a cowboy hat in a video now and then.

i hate this movie more than any i won't see this year
i don't see how, contrary to the review, that this movie could not insult the intelligence of the audience, as it does that at least twice in the trailer….most egregiously in the "we don't have enough imagination to have phone sex" scene.

I have tried to watch every smith movie through dogma, and ended up walking out of them. the ability to tolerate his movies seems tied to the ability to tolerate utterly incompetent shot composition and indifferent framing, and/or to overlook non-existent pacing or realism in favor of "showy" dialogue…
