The majority of writers on the Mad Men staff are women.
Yeah, I don't want to be scolded by Todd, but I think that most critics on the internet are against it because of what it means for their jobs. It feels like the show definitely hasn't been judged on its own terms on the site.
Well, I think it's much better than Boardwalk Empire was in its first season, so I suppose that's a good omen for the show. Homeland aside (well, maybe just the first season), Showtime shows always strike me as kind of cheap. House of Cards looked so expensive and lush.
A- for me too. It's certainly far from the best series on TV, but it's a really neat, fun little thriller that can be campy and smart. It's silly but has some really great character moments. Definitely going to be back next season.
"Where am I going to get a fucking hair cut?" was such a good line.
I am in awe of this show. Every week, the show produces a mini-masterpiece, creates a new high water mark that is topped the following week. This is what White was destined to create. I have never seen such a moving portrait of such flawed people on television. The direction, writing, acting - it's perfection.
THIS. I've pretty much always loved the show, but I still would love to see the way that White shaped such a flawless season of television with season 2.
How are more people not watching? This IS the show that will be looked back at in years to come and everyone will wonder why it wasn't watched then. It's so fucking fantastic, I can't believe the whole site hasn't fallen completely in love with it yet.
I hear he kicks puppies in his spare time…
I thought this was one of the weaker episodes. I can't remember much happening except for the peachoid, and all that seemed trivial and stupid.
If the show was on HBO or Showtime, it wouldn't get half the slack that it gets here.
When was Enlightened ever a B-list show. Wasn't in the top 10 for the end of year list?
More like The Years.
More likely than not, it was more like Britain's Got Talent and Coronation Street.
More like The Years.
I recently caught up with the "new" season. I'm enjoying this show so much. It's great to have Palladino's voice back on TV and the show is such easy viewing even though it carries some real weight.
Well, the buzz for the show around the site has really seemed to increase. During the first season, you could could the commenters for an episode on your hand, but now people are having thriving and meaningful discussions about it.
You SAY peacock? That's insane!
