Really? Wright? Have you seen the plot with the old woman in the graveyard yet? It's really shit. I feel like the writers toss her half stories and just keep throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks. Also, could someone explain to me the origami or the hand job? I have no idea what is happening with her character.

Yeah, I also found that infuriatingly stupid. Also, the parents seemed so pissed. I get that they would try to find someone to blame, but they looked more angry than upset. The way the father acted towards Frank it was as if he personally murdered her.

House of Cards thread.

I actually liked episode 8. It's the last episode that I've watched and I think it's gotten progressively better.

Ok, I'm on the sixth episode now. I thought the fifth had some really interesting moments (the menopause scene was one that stuck out) but the whole "let's put on a show" idea with the fundraiser was pretty painful. Also, Spacey taking nude pics of Mara can ONLY go poorly.

Oh yay, a person I can talk about the show with. I've watched the first two episodes (please don't spoil me) and I definitely like it. It's a good prestige drama. But as much as I like it, I don't really feel like anything is happening. It's very slowly getting to where it wants to go but it's taking it's time. That's

Whore is one step below 'cunt' in the list of worst words to call a woman. The whole scene was pretty brutal though and they both got in their fair share of cruelty.

I don't think she's feminist, but I certainly think that she strives to attain a perfect role as…something. She wants to have her shit together and be living the life in NYC.

Is there any episode this season that Apatow has anything to do with? Because "The Return" was just so good last season. I want some more of that.

Shoshanna's realisation was pretty great, but Jessa got the line of the night for me with "wish there was a Lord, but I know there isn't".

I laugh at certain moments too, it's not all high drama.

I read an article during the week in praise of Enlightened and it really rubbed me the wrong way. The person viewed the show as an out and out farce, a roaring good time. They said they laughed every time Amy was naive or did something wrong and thought all her co-workers were hysterical. Maybe I'm watching the show

I also preferred the quieter moments of Season 1, and I'm not entirely sure if I'm sold on the new season yet. There were some fantastic moments in this episode. It was a great piece of television without doubt but I just wish we could just watch the characters. Does there have to be a motive? I love watching Amy just

Enlightened feels like something that could have been made during Showtime's "Women with Edge" binge - Weeds, The Big C, Nurse Jackie, USoT. But it's not, it's so much more.

I fucking love the music on that show - those beautiful, beautiful piano chords. I really wish they played that one piece from last season though. It's the one that is always played when Amy was more peaceful. Those moments were so good, like a really easy guided meditation.

I seem to always mention it 'round these parts, but I really loved the Jessa and Marnie scene last season where they talked about losing their virginity. It game them both a realness and a vulnerability that we hadn't seen before and was really a great moment for Jessa.

I really loved how angry Jessa was. It's rare you see such spite (except for maybe Enlightened) on TV and are still asked to root for the character. They were both wrong in the argument and that's what made it so good.

Of all the reasons to not watch a show, this is pretty stupid. I know it's tinted with sarcasm, but, yano, pull it together man.

Even though she was largely absent, her smackdown of Charlie was so good. She was infuriating for the dinner party when she told Marnie to leave but I almost applauded when she told Charlie he was a jerk. Now if only all the characters realised they were jerks.
