One of my favorite all-time Letterman ad-libs took place during a segment with Dr. Ruth. She was looking for "protection."
She's one early guest for Letterman whom I didn't expect to see toward the end of his run. And, we didn't.

How about extreme thrillseekers who don't die, but get badly hurt. They seem to never have insurance (these days, pretty inexcusable) because they don't work, and have to use crowdfunding to get through it. Other than the name, and a glimpse of the Small World attraction at the 1964 World's Fair, there is IIRC no other mentions or connections to Disney or the theme parks. The mentions of the park and Walt in the trailers and the commercials didn't make it into the film.
The group was called Plus Ultra, so if there were a motto, I guess it would be "Further Beyond." There's a lot of movie tie-in websites that seem to set up the backstory, but what good is that for the audience members who go in cold?
I don't know if it was a gift at the theater (because I didn't get one) but there's a whole bunch of them on eBay.
And, he and/or his representation, made the fatal mistake of not including a time-slot restriction in his contract. I remember reading that insiders were amazed.
