Good point and I think that's true of many Elton songs, people associate the lyric with the singer and assume he's singing about himself, forgetting that he didn't write it and that it's really Taupin speaking and much more his thoughts, feelings, and experiences we're hearing.

I love Shoshanna but half the time she goes into that speed-babbling and I can only make out about 40% of what she's saying. It bums me out because I know I'd enjoy all of it!

The word you're look for is "nuther."

So how many episodes?

The biggest ongoing mystery of the show to me has long been, given how much we know Ron disdains the government and the work, everything the building he works in stands for and everything that goes on there, why does he work there? Why isn't he a professional woodworker or radiator repairman or something more

Never heard of David Yow.  The sentiment of Love the One You're With is completely of its time and in with the whole hippie/free-love ideal…..what he advocates may not end up being a great strategy in real life, but his heart was in the right place.  Anyway I never thought about the lyrics that much but musically

The joke where the character announces his intention to (or not to) run in a foot-race but it sounds like they are talking about running for office, was memorably done on Seinfeld.  The familiarity of that gag really stuck out like a sore thumb.

In my humble opinion, the Bob Newhart show remains the best, at least the funniest, sitcom of all time. Mary Tyler Moore, Cheers, Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm and whatever your personal favorite is are all strong contenders but for me it hasn't been topped.

It's easy to give something up when you're ashamed.

Anyway Wings Over America is one of my favorite albums, certainly one of the best things McCartney has put out in his post-Beatles era, and I'm glad to see it get some unsponsored love here on avclub.  For his and Wings' reputation as soft rock, this band was pretty soulful, loud and hard-rocking for my money anyway,

Ok I just want to add this.  Of course Wonderful Tonight is terrible, but only if you take it at face value, which I think is a big, very common and hilarious mistake.  Love seeing people pick it as their wedding song and singing and dancing to it romantically without seeming to realize that (at least the way I hear

Oh yeah, and also, it was interesting to find out that there were two rock albums in 1971 (the other being Wings' debut) called Wildlife.

"I didn't know anything *about* the black keys" made my day!  You could always tell from his songs and this interview backs it up - IH is a funny guy.

This article is confusing.  The first sentence says that the material is just remastered, but the rest of it makes it sound like he is re-recording it (and the mention of "reediting" the songs just makes it even murkier).  Lynne's quotes don't lend much clarity to the question either. At any rate, IMO they were one of

Some of you guys are crazy.  I am probably one of the most die-hard, forgiving, McCartney fans/apologists around here, I love and defend almost all his albums, but Ram has always been and still is for me, largely, kind of a tough listen!  The review says it's his best?  Come on!!! For me that would be either Band on

50 here and when the subject has come up, I have had to suspect that I am the oldest AV Club reader around.
