What makes this real is Streisand's shirt. My mother has a collection of shirts like that.

Swanberg's was my favorite section too, though it gets flack for not actually being on tape. I liked Ti West's too, even if people are let down by it. Me and the SO go on road trips all the time in similar motels, so that gave it an extra level of creepiness.

I never liked Friends that much, but credit's due to Jennifer Aniston('s Stylist) for pulling us out of those nightmarish hair trends of the early 90s.

Man, do I hate Henry. They should have left him in the mines at the start of season 1.

I heard Calista Flockhart was supposed to be in the season opener, and she has an imdb credit for this episode, but was nowhere to be found.

I wrote above about another book, 'The Fuck-Up,' about a fuck-up in his late 20s in 1980s New York. Wasn't a classic, but recall it being kind of funny.

I read a book published by MTV around the same time as I first read Perks called 'The Fuck-Up,' which I liked at the time, even though I couldn't really relate to the main character's vagrancy. IIRC, it would be like Kenny Powers as the protagonist, only without having had any early success. I wonder if that one holds…

Youch. She mostly does the 'type-A' variation, but she's good. I first saw her in Rocket Science and you should check that out.
