I just started watching this series thanks to the AV Club and I really like it. I'm two episodes in, and I think so far the show is doing a really nice job of balancing the more realistic aspects with the more outlandish sitcom aspects, although Episode 2 got a little bit too cartoonish.

The thing is, the really shitty parts (the newsroom and the serial killer) are surrounded by great stuff (Marlo's continuing rise to power, Omar's story).
