I just started watching this series thanks to the AV Club and I really like it. I'm two episodes in, and I think so far the show is doing a really nice job of balancing the more realistic aspects with the more outlandish sitcom aspects, although Episode 2 got a little bit too cartoonish.

This is probably one of my favourite shows of all time, and I'm really glad that the AV Club has started reviewing it. The best British TV series of the noughties, and I'm ecstatic that it's coming back soon, with extra Peter Mannion.

The thing is, the really shitty parts (the newsroom and the serial killer) are surrounded by great stuff (Marlo's continuing rise to power, Omar's story).
