Mary, when even your diminutive lady's made reminds you you're being an asshole, well, keep on doing what you're doing, I guess.

Loved the italicized/sarcastic way she said "wrong"… and that speech was just… I always had a thing for Spike, and so, well, I think I needed some time to myself after that scene.

In all seriousness, though, I would act exactly how Mrs. Drewe was. I might even tell Lady Edith to gtfo, though of course that wouldn't be wise. But to Mrs. Drewe, Lady Edith is just a rich lady who is trying to interfere in her family. I was exaggerating about no longer sympathizing with Edith, and actually, I

They call me Lady Mary. Rather, I call myself Lady Mary. Everyone else just calls me Mary.

She is the metaphorical brassiere of the downstairs staff, and they all rest in her bosom. Or something.

One of my least favorite episodes is the rubbish plot about the undelivered letters between Anna and Bates. (#1 least favorite episode is burned guy tries to claim the Crawley bucks.)

I like it. But, we'd have to kill off Anna, too. Can't have her moping about. What other diseases can come to Downton and clear away some characters who have worn out their welcome

It's too bad that Mr. Drewe's original fake letter didn't say anything about being foster parents to the girl, until… whenever. In that case, it would still be awful for Mrs. Drewe's to part ways with Marigold, but it wouldn't be out of the blue. Edith taking away the girl who Mrs. Drewe has come to think of as her

I completely don't understand how they think that is a good idea at all. It seems their motive is, "Don't let farmers raise her! Anything but that!" Let's NOT solve the current problem: let's create more. Violet has been shown to have good advice. Rosamund, your life skills advice are right on par with Robert's guide

Excerpt from Julian Fellowes' fan mail to Peter Jackson:
Dear Peter:
Please accept my congratulations on your Hobbit trilogy. Only a unique and original auteur such as yourself would think to take a compact novel and expand it into three movies. My theory, as yours has been with those movies, is SLOW THINGS DOWN. The

Apologies if this has already been addressed, but do we have any good guess of what self-"cure" Thomas is administering?

re: Bunting. The teaser for next time hinted that when it comes to Romance for Branson, Daisy is on Team Bunting. But come to think of it, I can see why Daisy would rather adore Miss Bunting: of course she does! Mrs. Patmore is no longer horrible to Daisy, but it must be a nice change to have someone stoke your hidden

Wait… what was that about a full-length Kitten Bowl?

One word: O'BRIEN.

Exactly. But I'm fine with Miss Bunting dying. Oooh, and Branson called her by her first name!

Brilliant. :) I sure hope Daisy's father-in-law is part of this season (but don't want to be told if he is)! His scenes with Daisy are my favorite.

I imagine that she doesn't want to lose independence, but also that she adored her first husband and considers him irreplaceable.
P.S. I, too, like Merton! It's as if DA were adapted from a book, and they made him more likable for the show.

I miss sitcoms that can be hilarious and then, at times, not only sad - but tragic. I suppose in those cases, it goes beyond sitcom. I think Seinfeld is one of the great sitcoms, but it never did that. (Not sure why I want something to be tragic, other than it's fictional and rather a pleasure to be emotionally

I hear you — I just don't like it when they appear to change, and then it's as if it didn't even happen. It feels cheap — like, the character "change" was only convenient for that episode.

YES.
