How in the name of god…
…could you find three filmworthy sites in Cleveland but only one in D.C.?

I've met a number of people who have young daughters named Reagan (in tribute to Ronnie). Even if I were a committed conservative, I would never give my kid a name that, is an alternate spelling of the possessed girl in this movie and one of the evil daughters in King Lear.

Andy's Chest…
…is the Reed song I'd most like to hear Stephen Malkmus cover.

Wilbon is usually up front about his friendship with athletes. For example, when Washington traded for Donavan McNabb he wrote a column explaining that McNabb was his friend and he probably wouldn't write about him.

Can the winner take on Simmons?

Bayless is a smug prick.

I'd be much more likely to take financial advice…
…from a man named Robert Van Winkle than a guy named Ice.

The Makings of You…
…is easily one the finest R+B love songs of all time. It and "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" are the A and B side of my Valentine's day 7-inch.

Malkmus has now officially had as many drummers as the Grateful Dead had keyboardists.
Except, you know, Gary Young and Steve West didn't OD.

Beavis and Butthead thought so.

My faves:
1. RET
2. Pig Lib
3. Face the Truth
4. Stephen Malkmus
I like the heavy, stoney side of the Jicks and RET is heavy with it. I really like the first four tracks on Pig Lib and the final track (Us might be the best Jicks song) but I tend to skip over the other songs.

I'm not sure; it's been years since I saw it. I know it was made-for-TV and had ridiculously bad effects, like worse than the original Time Machine.

Bellini's Jubilee? This actually happened? Or is this the greatest joke ever perpetrated on an AVC comment thread?

Well, according the liner notes (and Wikipedia) somebody named DJ K.O. did the "turntable scratching" on "Heart Cooks Brain." http://en.wikipedia.org/wik…

I'm just being pissy.

Remember when Modest Mouse used record-scratching?
"Heart Cooks Brain", "Never Ending Math Equation"…others? This, of course, was before rehab, therapy, synthesizers, and second drummers ruined them.

Garcia had a remarkable voice and was quite a singer. Weir, Lesh, the others, were pretty bad, though.

Agreed. And, hating the Dead out of hand is not great either.
