Not having watched either New Normal (I boycott Ryan Murphy these days) or 1600 Penn, I wonder which show was worse? At least Rannells and Gad can drink their sorrows away together, not actually being Mormon.

I think they want to set him up to replace Neil when the time comes. He's certainly cute and charismatic enough, but he doesn't have The Name for the draw.
What would I do without you, Franko?
Stop talking about Bunheads. It still lives. You'll jinx it!!!!
Was that actual arrangement from the show? I was wincing so badly I almost missed the start of the next number.
I also felt like she was too tall for that outfit. I don't know how to explain it. I think they should have reworked the costume to fit her build better.
I thought it was that there was one or two notes that are too high to do 8 nights a week, so they record them. But that everything else is sung live.
2) I'm sure it's not a coincidence, but I kept thinking of Copacabana. And Damn Yankees.
Actually, as I said above, I think that I loved the performance/production more than I love the show itself. It's a cute show with a great message, but it is elevated by the talent and design that makes it a fabulous experience. Whoever replaces Billy Porter is going to have an incredibly tough job, moreso than…
Yes, but is it always lip-synched so badly? That was the only showcase that we actually all started talking over in boredom. And Christine's wig seemed especially poor quality to me, perhaps because I'm still revelling in the glory of the Angels' wigs in Kinky. (Laura Osnes's as Cinderella was good too.)
Motown is doing hella bank at the box office. Agree that it was super adequate, but as Joe said above, no one can be MJ. It's almost not fair — it's karaoke but with better production value that you and your friends at the bar can afford.
And I missed the joke about Scott Rudin and felt bad that I didn't get it. Fill me in?
Tanya was rather incoherent for several minutes after that wink
I love Kinky and desperately want to see Bring It On…
I loved the hell out of Kinky Boots as a performance/production, but it's definitely not one of the best musicals I've ever seen, even among the recent crop. (Drowsy Chaperon and In The Heights are up there.)
Moment of the night. Moment of the year.
Curious if you're familiar with Pasek and Paul's work? I only know a little bit, but I think they're Ones To Watch.
Please don't make "vineable" a thing. It's not a thing.
Oh, and bets on a Lin-Manuel rap again? Because why stop when it worked the last few years?
Oh, and one more sad, vain hope that Hands on a Hardboy gets some love, SO I CAN SEE SOME OF IT.
