I ended up watching last week and this week back-to-back, so belatedly:  the dinner table scene with all four parents was fabulously awkward and complex.  I thought that would be the highlight of last week's episode, but then Jake and Tamara's post-deflowering conversation was so unexpected and wonderful.   I

I had to pause it to laugh out loud.  Perfect way to lampshade.

Happy birthday! I didn't notice either. Tell us which one you watch!

Wait, I liked @avclub-9079ea527e08a24dfad44e3302d5f091:disqus 's comment because I thought it was sarcastic and self-aware!  Did I do it wrong?

This seems like the type of show I want to marathon over a vacation weekend, or week, or however long it takes…

Awkward is great!

Really good point.

I didn't see Rebel Without a Cause until college, but then it was on the film society's big screen with wonderful sound.  I'm glad I waited for that kind of experience.

You have to quit it like a drug.  I went cold turkey and refused to let my friends tell me about episodes or drama.  I'm clean now, and I'm a healthier TV-addict for it.

For about thirty seconds it had potential as a satire on High School Musical-style shows….and then it became a giant offensive, uneven mess.

@avclub-79f87276253209015fd9d4755ecee399:disqus  That's a great idea.  If I had funds I'd say we should get an indiegogo going for that plan…

Oh boy, I loved this show.

As @avclub-ee712b54ff92d404ff6cd6c8f6e41324:disqus  says below, I think it's excellent as a loving portrait of small town Southern life.  Maycomb may be "a quiet old town" but lots of things happen on those quiet streets.

yo Franko, have you read the book by Barrie?  What do you think of the musical?  We haven't nerded out in a few days, it's time….

I missed this discussion earlier, but dude, we totally need to get a AVClub Children's Lit Book Club going.  I'll bring the Internet wine.  You guys bring the cheese or nachos or whatever.

You're not very good at trolling.

Another great choice!

That's cuz she's amazing.

Loved both of these series.  Where were you all when I was 10???

Oh wow, a Wes Anderson adaptation would be perfect!
