the best part of these ads is that they make the job seem so incredibly difficult to begin with! how hard is it really to cook eggs in a pan on the stove? how hard is it to drain a pot of spaghetti? what kind of genius do you have to be to slice strawberries?

haven't seen the movie in forever but i seem to remember that the theatre script has some horribly racist african-american characters. not quite minstrel show but close.

i think america is precisely the best place to set it b/c americans are all "that could never happen here, we have a constitution, separation of church & state etc." i also meant that it hits closer to home for women readers than men. i can't think of many countries in the world where men can't drive, hold down

the graphic novel has great depictions of it.
