Detroit just won the fucking cup last year. It's not like we're in some sort of drought. Get a hold of yourselves.

Dino, I concur. The HM&BN version (the original) of "Don't Leave Me This Way" is a masterpiece. I rediscovered it when I was compiling 70's music for my wife's birthday party. It's powerful and funky as fuck.

The fucked up thing is, if Walt had just died of lung cancer and left his family penniless with crushing debt, they may have/might end(ed) up happier. He's trying like a son of bitch, and that's why I root for him.

That's right, Bfred! He's gotta believe in the inherent goodness of corporations and banks, too! He can't be all bad. Yay America!

You're forgetting the movie about the renegade vacuum salesman, Sucking Dick.

I'll co-sign on sports talk dudes having suspect taste. The sports guy in West Michigan, "Huge", has been bitching for weeks about "that geek Conan O'Brien flippin' around his orange hair on the Tonight Show" and holding a friggin' wake for Leno.

Nice ATCQ callback.

Laimbeer has coached the Detroit Shock of the WNBA to 3 championships.

You punk bastards need to watch who you call a thug. John Salley was/is an amiable goof. Bad Boys Forever!

Peedi Crakk IS Peedi Peedi.

I remember Mel Farr's ads well. "…and they can't fly eitherrrrrr…"

They show that commercial in Detroit too. I thought Discount Tire was a local chain, but now that I think about it, it's generic enough that there could be quite a few "Discount Tires" that could share that commercial.

Maybe you should have plagiarized from someone who could spell "plagiarist".

Damn I miss Mr. Show.

Where's Michael Diamond?

Dilla
Like Nathan, I hated Dilla for ruining ATCQ. His sound sucked to me. I used to see him show up at hip hop spots around Detroit in the mid 90's in that fucking silver Land Cruiser with the "Ummah" license plate, and I wanted to yell mean shit to him. He fucked up my favorite group.

That was the hardest I've ever laughed at a 30 Rock joke. I wanted to read what the AV Club thought of it, then I realized most of you are pretty young. Man, that shit was funny! Greatest MASH callback ever.

In urban planning parlance, you young twenty-something bastards are Millenials.

The Good Part About Being From Detroit
The CBC affiliate in Windsor used to air this in the mid 80's, as one part of the British Comedy Hour, along with Doctors At Sea or Dave Allen At Large. Ah…good times…
