I don't get what's with Heckerling sometimes: she's a really smart director, who gets good performances from her actors, sometimes the best performances of their careers…but she'll follow up a classic like "Clueless" with "Loser". She wrote the script for "Loser", so it's not like she got handed someone else's mess.

This makes me think of the Shaft re-make; I really wanted Shaft to leave the story after half hour and just follow the Patrick Bateman and Jeffrey Wright characters, who were a lot more interesting.
