It's been a slow, steady fall since after the first couple episodes though; it's not like there was a dramatic shift at any point since episode 3. Every week another point worth of people gave up on it getting good. We're going to need more than one data point of Good SHIELD Episode before we can conclude anything.

Aquaman can communicate with salmon ladders.

Aw, that sucks. Especially because while I've never particularly cared about X-men in space (give or take a trial of Phoenix), I could totally see the MCU getting good use out of SWORD in a post-GotG world.

I hope I never forget that they called it a "maximum event." Maximum! How much more event can you get? None! None more event!

Depends if it was a bagel truck.

I'm curious what Charizard being his own thing means for Squirtle and Ivysaur. Are they all still in it but separate now in the spirit of Sheik and Zero Suit no longer transforming?

I bet Al Capone just feels foolish now.

Imagine is a douchey college freshman redditor crossed with a hippie doofus, made into song form. It bums me out how it's always the go-to song when remembering John Lennon. It's like if every montage of Robert DeNiro's achievements were just clips of Meet the Fockers.

For a moment I was uncomfortable with the "Assume everyone on the Helicarriers is HYDRA" bit but it actually does make sense to only staff your own people on the main instruments of your whole plan. Doesn't account for the Triskelion or tons of people in cars, but the latter is made up of people driving in DC so they

It's interesting that each of the Phase 2 movies ends with mildly ambiguous status quos. How done with Iron Man is Tony? How much time is Thor spending on Earth now? What's Fury gonna do by himself? They can just establish all that stuff in the next Avengers, but until then we have to just kind of guess at elements of

He was running from point to point so quickly it looked nearly instant. No room in that cell to really let loose and neither of them looked quite right in the head - probably some form of mind control derived from Loki's staff.

Actually namedropped in the movie, too, in a scene that showed that you can totally do a huge info dump on me and I'll eat it up with a wide grin if it involves Arnim Zola being a face on a old-school computer screen in a giant Hollywood movie. So great.

It's just not Batroc the Leaper if his accent isn't bad in one way or another.

When Insight was searching for targets, I was looking for more easter eggs like that, and I bet they're there for the DVD-freezing crowd (a la the mutant list and Cerebro tour in X2). Only thing I made out was Lt. Marcus something, which umm, maybe this guy: http://marvel.wikia.com/Mar…

If Trebek is going to appear on a show, he should bring along Jesse Ventura.

And Anthony Hopkins has 16 minutes of screen time in Silence of the Lambs.

Ha! I haven't seen it, but I thought about Safe Haven as well, though I couldn't remember its title. It was Cobie's turn apparently.

Every scene she's in after her divorce has her gazing longingly at Ted. She tells Lily she should have ended up with him. She smiles when she sees him and the blue french horn. I'm reading what we've been given.

In theory I like the idea of doing flashforwards over the decades to give us glimpses of what happened between the umbrella meeting and Ted sitting his kids down, but in practice it ended up creating so many confusing gaps that the audience has to just guess at. Have they all slowly drifted apart or are they so close

She's also as far as the finale seems to depict spent the last decade and a half regretting missing out on her chance with him. She's gonna let him in.
