I've not read it, but I've mostly heard good things about Mitchell. I enjoyed Cloud Atlas and loved The Thousand Autumns of Jacob DeZoet.

But doesn't it make sense that Mr. Weasly works with Muggle technology for a living, but doesn't understand how a telephone works, much less how to pronounce it? No? Not really? Basically, there's a lot of parallels between the Wizard and Muggle worlds, some of which are creative and some of which are poorly

What do you think of number9dream thus far?

I watched the first five episodes of Twin Peaks a while ago. I'm loving it so far, but have let other things get in the way. And I'm slowly reading Crime and Punishment right now, and yeah, the emotions in Dostoevsky are pretty much at 11 the whole time, aren't they?
If you want to bold something it's < followed by b

Oh, nice. I'm waiting for it to show up on Hulu (I watched Series 1 last summer on Youtube, but it recently showed up on Hulu, so I'm hoping the second will appear there soon).

Oh God, I'm an idiot. That makes sense.

That's fair, and I'd need to reread The Giver again to really form an opinion on it. Especially because it seems like it doesn't hold for a lot of people in adulthood.

Yay, The Americans! I'm desperately hoping the review here claiming "mixed results" in the season premiere is bullshit though.

Good Kid M.A.A.D. City is terrific, and indeed much better than The Heist by most people's reckoning. It's easily my favorite rap album of the decade thus far.

Were you watching Bron/Broen in the original Danish/Swedish or are there English subs already?

I totally want to see a movie called Eat My Felt

Sorry about the wasted ticket, Caipirinha.

I liked Super 8 for the most part, but I didn't know who Emmerich was at the time I saw it, so that's pretty cool to know that he's in it. Also something something insert obligatory "but did you think there were enough lens flares" joke here.

I finally caught up on Sleepy Hollow over the weekend. It was a ton of fun, and those last few episodes for me brought the show from "good" to something that I really, really enjoy. And the season-ending twist was surprisingly shocking and enjoyable. (SPOILER) I think John Noble will make a great villain for the

How was Card Wars? It looks like the kind of thing that could be either incredibly awesome, or incredibly dumb.

Good to hear that Moone Boy continues to impress in its second series, although it'll presumably be a while before it appears on American Hulu.

Hmm, I'm sorry to hear that you're not enjoying Light in August thus far, as it's one of my favorite novels of all time, and I think it's one of the easiest of Faulkner's books to enjoy. So yeah, it seems like there's a pretty good chance that Faulkner's not your thing.

What do you think of The Brothers Karamazov thus far? I just started reading Crime and Punishment (only 541 pages to go!), and am pretty excited about it, as it's my first Dostoevsky.

Leto's and McConaughey's weight loss was as much terrifying as it was impressive.

Congrats on both the likes and the PLOS-publication.
