It's a good David Bowie song, though.

Re: why religious belief is more common among athletes, I'd say that athletes on the whole strike me as less likely to think critically about why they believe in what they were raised to believe, and hence less likely to abandon their religious beliefs, particularly those that involve following an organized religion.

Half-a-dozen accountants all at once: "I call Ledgerman!"

I watched this weeks Parks and Rec, which were both pretty awesome. I started out pretty unenthusiastic with the first couple of episodes of this season, but ever since the "Twitter Watergate" episode, I've been enjoying Season 6 more and more. Both episodes were pretty funny, and I somehow came away from "The Cones

Oh yeah, I'm absolutely not saying that this makes any sense at all, but at least there's some way to find notifications.

I liked the first two episodes of Season 3 of Borgen. I feel like the middle portion of the season is probably the weakest stretch of the series though.

I thought for a brief moment that by Kicking and Screaming you meant the shitty 2005 Will Ferrell film, and I was confused as to how anyone could consider that movie to be the best work of any director worthy of commenting on.

If click on "My Disqus" at the top of a comments section, you can find new notifications, does that work for you? But seriously, this redesign is dumb. I only just regained the ability to comment a short time ago.

"I'd say something inspiring in Danish, but I don't know any."

They could have made up some sort of unprecedented condition that they have. Or at the very least they could have addressed the fact that it's problematic to have to condemn people to death without a fair trial. Or the writers could have realized how stupid it is to refuse to give a criminal suspect accommodations

"Just because they're Wesen doesn't mean they get special treatment."

Yeah, I'm certainly not accusing Obama of this, or any particular politician really. That was both a classy and politically smart move by Obama.

I see what you mean; I just don't think it was fair for her kids to have to face criticism over her bullshit.

"We should bash all religions until the people who believe in them are so ostracized from society [that] they renounce their idiotic beliefs or they kill themselves."

Didn't know that Evgeni Malkin was a Republican. Still a damn good center, though.

And there's Muslims who don't want to kill gay people because they're gay. I'm certainly not a bigot here. Do I really need to explain to you why Islamophobia is a problem? Do you have a problem with the far-right Christians in the US who want to criminalize homosexuality? Do you have a problem with non-Muslim

I do consider myself liberal, and I don't like that joke because I think it's distasteful to go after a politician's children in a joke like that (I don't remember if Palin's daughter was technically an adult when she got pregnant or not, but she was still pretty young). Granted, I'm sure Letterman wasn't talking

"…in a scandal we're referring to as "Twitter Watergate."'

Oh great, we've got blatant Islamophobes in the commentariat now. That's just fucking fantastic. Thanks, NuDisqus!

The sheer ridiculousness of that montage at the end was the funniest thing about this episode, and yeah, it was surprisingly sad to see a bouncing basketball whose progress we've follow for about a minute of this show, have to "break up" with a completely indistinguishable other basketball that gets about 10 seconds
