This has got to be the most depressing thing I've read all week.  Fuck you, Jenny McCarthy.

I'm an atheist, but to say that Christians "unfailingly" fail to see beauty in the world is a pretty massive over-generalization.

I'm currently reading The Fires of Heaven, Book 5 of The Wheel of Time.  Somehow the egregious female stereotypes seem even more egregious than they were in the first four books of the series.

Congrats on the weight loss!  Sorry about the wrist though.

It's such a validating feeling when you're predicted to lose your fantasy match up by a significant margin, and then you go on to win by like 30 points.

Metallica-Sweet Amber

Congrats man!  That's awesome!

I don't watch a lot of The Colpert Report, but I saw Colbert's brilliant take-down of the Right's recent anti-food stamp rhetoric, and pretty much every single Fox News clip that was shown could qualify for dumbest thing I've heard this week, but particularly Geraldo Rivera complaining to Bill O'Reilly about how

"Ideal way to watch [We Are Men]: As a second-screen experience with the latest posts on a men’s-rights subreddit."
Best piece of snark I've read from the AV Club all week.  I'm so glad I have this and Dads on my TV fantasy team.

You know who else is hoping to see Mom go up against Dads in the same timeslot?

"but there's ways to do that without it turning into some attack on women moving up more and gaining more opportunities in the workforce,"

@avclub-b750f74544cb00c138079607276995e9:disqus It already is on regular-old free Hulu.

I actually really liked the dialogue.  For me at least, I love Jesse's dialogue in it's casual weirdness.  And I think that with this episode, everyone's reaction to just about every revelation was so casual and hence understated that it made it the rapid pace of mythology-building and symbolism not feel heavy-handed

I'll note that if you aren't opposed to some pseudo-legal-type stuff, you can usually find any new Regular Show episode on YouTube before the new reviews are up, in case you aren't able to catch the episodes at airtime, don't have a DVR, or don't have Cartoon Network.

For a second I almost misread your second paragraph opening as "On Friday I played hockey at work," which seems like it would have been more interesting than a White Sox game.  And it must have been nice to see the Packers bounce back like that this week.

Having recently finished watching Moone Boy, I'd say that either "Dark Side of the Moone" or the episode after that was probably my favorite.  It was hilarious all the way through.  I also like the way that Martin's parents manage to be such amusingly flawed and awkward at parenting without falling into the "parents

Happy Birthday!

The Emperor's New Groove is fucking hilarious, presumably more so when you're ten years old, which is probably how old I was when I first saw it, but still, it's awesome.

Any idea on what the deal was with Witten and Austin?  Was it just Romo that led to a lack of production for them, or were they shitty as well?  Because until I saw how awful my opponent in fantasy was doing this week I was afraid that they might lose me my match up this week.

I'm excited too!  I didn't know that the Leafs played a preseason game in London every year.  Is there any word on whether Reimer or Bernier is going to be the starter for you guys yet?
