@ Craig: do you mean Andy & Stuart? Or the real police?

Nope, just David Bowie, ready to go Stepping Out!

And all he sold them was the world.

Craig: your collection looks remarkably like mine…although I wish I had gotten my mitts on Dead Ringers before it went OOP.

Well said, Chartex. You've hit upon something with the expression "it doesn't need your love." That sentiment can be said of any number of movies of the late 60's - mid 70's, when the newer breed of non-Hollywood type film-makers were emerging. This could describe everything from "Head" to "Clockwork Orange" to "King

The Pretty Gay Bra - now available at Macy's.

Is it gayer than Top Gun? I have a gay friend and he says that not even gay porn is as gay as Top Gun.

Coincidence: I just watched The Mist this weekend!

I picked a bad day to quit sniffing glue.

The only way I like broccoli is drizzled with olive oil, then baked in the oven.

Is it just me, or are the Oogieloves becoming the next Dawes here at the AVC?

Ergo you are fucked.

Official Prediction Thread:
Mark Boal (populist factor)
Tony Kushner (prestige factor)
Ken Burns et al (Ken Burns factor)

I'm no zombie purist (fast or slow ok by me), and I loved the DotD remake. Well done open, great beginning and ending titles. And the stuff in-between was as good as the inside of an Oreo.

I'd give it a lukewarm ok. I found it better than the remakes of either Halloween (fucking horrible) or Nightmare on Elm Street (regular horrible). I have not seen Fright Night yet, but I've been told it's not bad.

Chekov rape-y? Or Evil Dead tree rape-y?

You need better friends. That description would've hooked me like a salmon.

All great. I would call Casino Royale a semi-remake, but more based on the book than the previous movie (like True Grit).

Good call on The Fly.
