I feel like the finale of season 5 served well as a series finale. It was pretty much everything Community ever was, it satirized the idea of finales, all of the relationship drama and love triangle stuff ended on a pretty satisfying note, and Abed actually broke the fourth wall. It also acknowledged the fact that

Exactly! They want us to care about these relationships, but I could care less. By developing the characters more, the show would have emotional moments that hit harder.

I kind of agree with this. I know there are a lot of former 30 Rock writers on TMP staff, so I can see why they'd try to replicate what 30 Rock did, but that might actually be the problem with the show. They're sacrificing character for jokes(a lot which don't work half the time) which doesn't work with the premise

Gonna miss Craig, but… Julie Klausner as replacement, please. That is all.

Someone said on another thread that Carter/Bays, being the pompous Wesleyan grads they are, decided to frame the entire last season of the show like the Virginia Woolf novel To The Lighthouse (hence the lighthouse prominence in the last season). The majority of the book takes place over one weekend, then suddenly for

I agree. The actors did a great job…the writing just sucked.

Exactly. Personally, I'm not a big fan of "internet personalities." There are some exceptions for me like Bo Burnham, but he's definitely transcended being "internet famous."

Those two were never going to make it…I think it's pretty clear from the moment they start dating.

I feel like Carters and Bays just messed up the entire tone of a sitcom in the finale…you have to make the gut-wrenching moments hilarious in addition to being sad. I think it's just pretty lazy of them to say—but we wanted to make you "feel something," crap.

The Broad City ladies weren't really that "internet famous." Their youtube videos only average about 60,000 views, but they were well-known because of their UCB stuff and Ilana was in The Five Year Engagement.

The internet was made for ranting, porn, and videos of kittens.

I Still think Community's initial problem lies with the fact that NBC had them originally premiere after The Office at 9:30 to pretty decent numbers and during a timeslot where the tone of the show fit better (9:30) and then changed it when Thursday Weekend Update was over and Tina Fey could return to 30 Rock. Now I

I thought the student-teacher looked very familiar too (but I don't know from where).

Definitely. I actually like the fact that she's not an honest or slightly redeeming person, but she didn't really "earn," the speech at the career day that got her our of her mess. Also, the gym teacher's brother just happened to be a cop.

I agree. The "heart of gold," stuff is pretty much what I meant to say when I said that everything happened too fast. I really wanted her to get in that car with the rich dad, but instead she's already sleeping with the gym teacher.

Ryan Hansen is hilarious…It sucks that every show he's been on since Party Down has been a disappointment.

Kristin Davis is the uptight teacher. So far she hasn't played it as manic as Lucy Punch did. I think Davis only got, like, three minutes on screen so far.

The hotness of the TV cast actually makes the film version look realistic.

I would seriously love to see a really dark and insane version of this show on cable with cocaine use being shown and actually allowing the lead character to be a functioning alcoholic.

I think the story went too fast…as in I would have liked to see Meredith deal with adjusting to her new life more in the pilot.
