The utterly pointless Amelia flashbacks almost served a purpose tonight by making me think that they do serve a purpose if Amelia's in trouble and needs Sam.  Psych!  Dean was just using his brother's love to get his own way.  (Talk about monstrous!)  The flashbacks are still pointless, so thanks for that, Dean.
