It did seem like they were trying to conform to ABC "House Style" which I think is a big mistake.
The good news is that Ben Edlund (The Tick, Supernatural) joined the "Revolution" writers room this year.
There's usually a late night repeat or two of most cable shows. The broadcast networks should do this too.

The central mystery is kinda meh. Everything surrounding the mystery is kind of interesting. Hopefully they'll ditch the "big mystery" conceit in season 2 and go for shorter arcs. Something a little more like "Justified" would be better and add some humor.
Boy, they really slashed the budget on season three of "The Newsroom".
