What were we supposed to think, exactly, when Helen saw Barrie's character getting help loading her car?  Just that Helen saw Barrie's character as connected to other people — or pampered/privileged, maybe (was that an expensive car??)?

I just rewatched some of the old episodes — Bethany's mentioned by Amy when she's reading her mom the letter she wrote her in Hawaii (I think that was then??) — she says something like "we've had rough patches — dad's death, my divorce, all of Bethany's issues, money problems…."

I didn't want them to show the car with the hose at all — Ladd's long look at the empty garage would have been enough for me (and, I think, for most viewers)?  I thought it was a heavy-handed moment in such an otherwise excellent episode — showing the actual body made it that much worse imo….

I love this show.  I agree with the people who've been comparing it to The Comeback — strong female lead, really flawed, but completely fascinating.  I also think the writing is absolutely beautiful (even the meditative interludes — and I am usually allergic to anything remotely New Age-y).  Is School of Rock worth

thought it was better than a "B"
and that Murray's Andrew-Lloyd-Webber turn was damn funny.
