Did anyone else notice they're going back to the second 1/2 of the LA auditions next week? What the hell? It really does confirm for me the outlook that they just weren't ready to be locked into one hour long episodes at this point. Either way, how dare they split up my JTF time across two weeks. 

I agree. I was thinking at the time that she got a bit of the sympathy vote after what they put her father through. What I'll say, though, is that she did deserve a spot in Vegas (maybe not straight through, but hey) but she doesn't strike me as the type to make it beyond that.

I noticed that too at the time, I think it was just shotty editing work on their part. I don't know, but watching these first two episodes makes me feel like the editors and producers weren't really prepared for only hour long audition episodes. They've both been rushed and highly dependent on montages.
