With Emily and Nolan as godparents, I'd hope they could come up with a better name for the kid than Carl. Or was that like Jack's dad's name and I just forgot?

I'm right there with you on that one. And I'm not opposed to the show's Villians (I love Victoria way more than I probably should), but I simply hate this guy. And not in the "love to hate him" kind of way that I tend to hate Daniel or Nolan's crazy fuck buddy from last season whose name I can't remember. Tyler?

I didn't squeal, but I did groan. Followed quickly by "Will you kill him already? How many times do we have to revenge this guy?"

How was she only in a coma for not even a full episode? What a waste of that tried and true soap storytelling device. I was hoping we'd get at least an episode or two of Emily and Jack playing house with Amanda's baby.

How they get away with killing Americans and retaining their status (in the audience's eyes) as the good guy is the crux of the issue. The writers have to figure out how to do that to show they have the chops to keep this thing going. Otherwise it feels like we're rooting for a bunch of pussies who get shot at but…

I don't disagree, but in a show that's been around for so long, why not try a different approach? What've they got to lose? What if we spent the pre-tribal time with the winning tribe? It might be boring (what could they possibly do other than gloat over their win and such?) but it also might not. Either way, it would…

The problem isn't with this specific case, but with the frequency with which the show continues to go to that well. On a case by case basis, it makes sense. Marcus wants his crew back, so he capitulates to Julian's bs request and his ridiculous deadline without fighting. His sub isn't suited to fight its way through…

So if I understand you properly, Once More deviates from things because it's not a monster of the week episode? If so, you and I watched Buffy very differently. I found Buffy to be far more serialized than episodic, so to me the detour episodes are the ones that are monster of the week in nature. A good 90% of any…

I will say when you add all of that analysis to the mix, I can see how it would make sense. The failure to me continues to be the need to add all of that to the mix. I don't feel as though the show gave up any of that. Now I'm not the "State it outright so we know for sure!" kind of person, but I do feel as though the…

I second what @avclub-c1bac1d55ebcc415d61552acbfbb219d:disqus said, but more over I think what they did with the torpedoes was once again avoid killing any "innocent" people who're "just following orders" in order to not murk up the morality situation. I'm willing to concede that using their weapons to make a stealthy…
