Yeah as soon as Lydia said Train I said to myself, Ok that's the cold open connection. And then while I was watching the operation take place, I totally forgot about the cold open again until they showed the kid. The scene was just way too engrossing for me to remember back to that.

Donna, the way you manage to continue to turn out these reviews week after week without resorting to just saying "Oh My Fucking God!" over and over again continues to amaze me. I simply don't have words.

1) Christ that was boring. Sorry to be contrary, but I feel like that was them falling back on the habits from the beginning of this season. But that's mostly due to this episode seemingly being place setting for the final 2. If the final 2 are as good as the couple prior to this one, then it'll be worth it.

I wouldn't necessarily say that it "has" to be classified, but I will say that the reason these things are classified is because that's just the world we live in. We navigate and understand our world by way of labels and classification. Either way, for me the genre isn't the most important aspect of the show so much

I guess that's certainly one way to look at it. I just don't know how a comedy can be considered to be clicking on all cylinders when it's not bringing the comedy. In another show, I feel like we'd be saying it's a bit schizophrenic or doesn't know if it wants to be a comedy or a drama (see Glee for an example of

It's redundant to mention that a comedy series isn't funny? or it's redundant to mention that it's nailing its comedy?

I couldn't agree with you more on the questioning why I'm watching thing. This was the episode that made me think I might finally have to stop watching the show. And I really would like for Kaiser to account for the lack of comedy in this comedy series and how that translates into "nailing it." He hasn't mentioned the

I don't really disagree with any of the points in this review, (though I don’t lavish the praise on them that you do) but I do think that there's a glaring omission. You don't have a bullet point that says "It was funny!" and I don't know how anyone else feels on this point, but I think the main reason for that

Not a fan of Christopher this week. I loved his dress, of course, but all of his unsolicited "constructive criticism"  for Buffi and then being so confused about why in the world she wouldn't want to hear it was a bit odd to me. Get over yourself, buddy.

This is now my second season of watching Hard Knocks, and I'm still very disappointed by the locker room footage. I mean, this is HBO right? Where's the gratuitous full frontal male nudity we HBO fans have come to expect from years of Oz and Game of Thrones watching?
