Yes. This was crassly, numbingly, awfully badly written. Such a shame.

There's a difference between "caring about literal interpretations" and refusing to credit a shoddy, rushed, illogical script. To say these errors are on the same level as, say, the numinous depths of 2001 or David Lynch films is an insult to them and the credulity of the viewing public. This was just a bad, bad film.

I had heard the boss battles were somewhat jarring. Indeed, one esteemed reviewer said he was so upset at being forced to kill, having carefully played as a milquetoast tactician, that he refused to play on for a couple of days… What say you?
