So the time has come for people to reflect on "The Avengers" and admit that, well, maybe it wasn't that awesome after all?
Seriously, the comerrcial and critical acclaim for The Avengers and the GamerGate are the two most fascinating things about USA culture in the last 10 years or so.

If I recall correctly their name was supposed to be a reference to "Paris, Texas".

They could name that version "Guardians of Dogville"

Nicely written news. So nicely, I thought it's O'Neil's. Good job Katie Rife.

Embrace for Academy Award Winner Jared Leto.

Well, the guy had a roller coaster ride of a lifetime. First, he wins a lottery and stars in not one, but two blockbusters in a single season. Then, these movies turn into, more or less, the biggest failures of the last decade. And it even wasn't his fault.
I guess, all is left for him is to try to do a Ben Affleck (or

BEWARE, SPOILER AHEAD.
So, what's going on with that glass thing? A lens, an artificial eye, or just a misguiding visualization of the mind palace?

Seems like a good list (well, I haven't watched most of it yet).
I would only add "Blue Jasmine" and "Side Effects" somewhere. Certainly these two were the biggest surprises for me - I had not thought Allen and Sodenbergh still could make movies of that quality.

Love it.

Also, we don't really know where exactly he escapes. The name of the country is never mentioned (if I recall correctly).
The whole political background of the movie serves as its selling point, but in the end it's rather… inessential.

Wasn't avocado released straight after Riot Act?

Wait, that was a deleted scene? The one where Affleck was watching the shootout in the drive-in? I thought I saw it in the movie… Actually, looking out for Heat influences is the only way to make watching that flick endurable.

The tricky part about shooting the diner scene was to capture the whole thing at once, without cameras and crew being seen in the background. Or so they said. Have no idea why they didn't go with a wide plan though, like on the promo picture: http://www.imdb.com/media/r…

I'm just not sure if I'd ever heard of them (would the reviews were as good as they were? etc.). First world problem, perhaps.

I meant the widest possible definition of sexuality, including both physical acts and sexual orientation. Sure, these three movies are completely different and I stretched things a bit to fit them into one pot, but, anyway: would they work as a straight romance ("Weekend"), drug abuse story ("Shame"), and a Jim Carrey

Friday, Saturday: no pop-culture but club-culture.

Milk was a bad choice.

Saw them last year and it was quite dull. Lots of energy, but they played only the 'crazy fast guitars and even faster drums' type of songs, plus some random jams in similar style. Punk rock needs some dynamics too, men! Like, you know, on the albums.

Appropriate title for that album is The Suburbzzz. Well, actually, I never made it past  the first few songs so The Subzzz… is even more suitable. But if their point was to made a record as exciting as living in suburban areas then it is indeed a 100% success.
