The cars were confiscated from drug dealers.  Apparently the creator of Miami Vice (Yerkovich?) got the idea for the show after he read an article in Time about DEA agents going undercover for sting operations as high-rolling drug dealers using the clothes, cars and weapons they confiscated from prior drug busts

I would watch Jonathan Banks for however long he is willing to stare at a camera and make exasperated facial expressions, even if it was in an empty studio.

I still can't believe how much parts of Over-the-Rhine have changed for the better since I lived there (I left in 1996).  Going anywhere north of Central Parkway was asking for trouble, but not so much nowadays.

The Flimm Building was actually the old Cincinnati Enquirer building.  Its on Vine just north of Fountain Square, but its kinda tucked in between a couple other buildings so its hard to spot if you don't know what you're looking for.

I guess one could argue that "Follow that Bird" acts as a metaphor for failed government social services agencies (child protective services, social workers, etc), but even that might be too much of a stretch.
