Once I realized it was the band, I hoped that they'd also include one of my all-time favourites, "La Femme Fetal" by the Digable Planets. Wonderful contrast to "Warm Sentiments".

Agreed on the requisite Achilles heel(s) I assume the witches included in the vampire spell.

One of my main issues with this season is that the strings are showing on the love triangle. As you said, they've recycled it too many times, and out of character behaviour is starting to seem more like plot contrivance than anything else (see: lack of Caroline, Vampire Trainer; Stefan pulling a Damon and doing what

This is EXACTLY what I had in mind, including a Jeremy/Bonnie team, for all the reasons stated. I feel like the the internal conflict in the show has fallen by the way-side with the Originals and hybrids and what-not, and while I appreciate Elena's struggles this season, I'd love to see the show take this kind of risk.

Five episodes were far too few for him. He could have filled the gap left by Alaric nicely; I wish he had been a bit less unhinged and better able to draw Jeremy into the slayer mentality.

I've always seen Stefan as the one who respects her wishes above all else, and Damon as willing to do what he thinks is best for her.

Shit, I posted before reading everything, but the CBC coverage was freakin' hilarious to me. Everything got weird and that Republican analyst was increasingly frantic and Mansbridge was half-asleep and Mark Critch was being so irreverent and seemed mostly surprised to be at the adults' table and won't someone get poor

Not sure if anyone else watched CBC's coverage, but pretty much everything after 11 pm was somewhat hilarious. The Republican analyst progressively losing her shit, Peter Mansbridge making hilarious quips when he didn't look like he was about to fall asleep, Mark Critch, and mostly not having to hear that Harper won.
