Agreed on Frantic. It's weird in that it's Polanski doing what should be — in terms of setting an plot — an episode of Mannix, but it was moodier, dirtier, and actually had Ford act instead of just scowling. A lightweight genre movie that was brought to a higher level.

Now I'm imagining Andy Griffith with Big Black. This is a deeply disturbing vision.

Tonight I'm watching the Pickle episode. Best. Television. Ever.

Bradford Cox told me about opening for the Pumpkins on their Zeitgeist "comeback." They did not get along. Imagine that.

I will get this. And do check out the Jody Grind's stuff… that was quite a combo. Miss ya, Rob, Robert and Tim (Deacon.)

I loves me some Garbage and even though Beautifulgarbage and Bleed Like Me had some weak tracks in there, they were strong. This review is about right. The production is kind of bizarre — talk about brick walling, and Vig should know better than to do that pulsing thing with the volume in the chorus of the first song

Sam, I am so envious. I'd have been intimidated but you really let her tell her stories… does she still have that voice, that calm, sexy enunciation?

My Hungarian-Swedish wife would approve of this. Finnish and Hungarian are both imaginary, impossible-to-speak languages. I still think everyone in both those countries is just speaking in tongues when we gringos are around, and switch to, I dunno, Spanish when we're not looking.

He seems to always make films set in some alternative timeline. Metropolitan, Barcelona, and Disco were all in (to me) somewhat skewed, vaguely "off" settings, even though I recall Disco being explicitly introduces as being in the very early 80s. They all share that feeling of taking place out of time.

Woody Allen often says things to that effect, actually.

She apparently went to,parties at my brother's apartment when they were bothe at DePaul (same age, both hung with the theater kids.) at that time according to my brother she had about the sexiest pair of jeans with the ass ripped out… I'm retroactively jealous of his partying with her drunk pre celebrity butt.

Two words.

Elastica: Stranglers tribute band but cuter.

She's a bit of a loon, and one of my friends is Sinhalese and thus I've not heard a lot of good things about the Tamils in Sri Lanka. But I can't dispute she's damn good looking.
