As opposed to real life, in which the Occupy movement resulted in . . .

Like sports movies, dance movies are going to go back to the same wellspring of cliches.  The difference between the good ones and the bad ones is the quality of the writing, acting, directing, and dancing, not the cliches themselves.

The worst part, on several levels, is that he stole that joke from Louie.

I sort of like how Ryan manifests his Lokiostity by being a pain in the ass to everyone around him.  He's still an annoying character, but it's funny to watch once you get the joke.

I'd cut Will Ferrell out of that list.   He's in a lot of dogs, but gets a funny performance in every so often, and he really commits 100% to whatever he's doing, even the dogs.   The rest of them give the sense that they have one character and demand that you find it funny.

To be fair, Ayoade gets the only even arguably funny line in any of the commercials.   (Every time I see it, I think "Who's that guy and why is he being funny when no one else bothered to?")

Random thought: Amon needed to be seen as a non-bender because he needed *Hiroshi Sato.*   Without the constant supply of money and evil inventions, he would ultimately have been overwhelmed by the combined military might of the rest of the world.     If Sato had known that Amon was not only a bender, but a specialist

Noel, I'd never thought of your point about Jonathan before.

If the Scoobies had ever had him over for pizza and research, he probably would have been (1) useful and (2) not evil.   Instead, they run into him two or three times, say "Boy, you sure are in a lot of pain, aren't you?   Well, good luck with that!" and

Carolla is made for radio/podcasting.  He's very good at improv - if you compare Loveline with and without him, there's no contest - and the first time you hear one of his rants, it's hilarious.   When he riffs with another comedian on his show, it can be awesome.

He's an ok sketch writer.   The Hammer was pretty
