1) Ok, it stands to reason that by random chance, some of the surviving groups at this point would be composed of really, really stupid people, so I'm rationalizing that that's what I'm watching.   Rick bringing the kid back was so stupid that I can't fathom it.   Carl not telling anyone that there was a zombie in the

Yes, it's called "Redbox".

Risky Business will never be topped.

Can you make money with Netflix's original model (disks by mail) or their second model (live streaming?)   If so, then it seems like the space is open for Amazon, Blockbuster or someone else to be the new Netflix.   If not, then this might be more rational than it sounds — it's a crummy move, but might be Netflix's

Justified is maddening.   The show doesn't have reruns, it doesn't post on the FX website, and the DVDs don't come out until days before the next season.   So if you came into the series late, there's almost no way to catch up and start watching it live. Similarly, if you miss an episode, you're out of luck.

I liked it because it felt like they were running a restaurant, instead of cooking for a dinner party.

Some late comments:

I wasn't crazy about Anya's fruit punch speech.   IMHO, the earlier scenes are much truer to her character.   She knows what death *is*, she just doesn't know how she's supposed to react to it, and she keeps getting closer and closer to cracking up as she asks Xander and Willow to tell her how to

One thing the Oatmeal guy could do would be to pre-order the GOT DVD set as he pirated.  It would still be illegal, but he might not feel as bad.

I personally wait until my local library gets the disks, but that probably doesn't put much money in any artists' pockets.

Yeah, along with:

I can't buy Shane's "do what we have to do to survive" speeches because the characters obviously spend so little time thinking about their situation.

Aidan shows why he's smarter than all other vampires (which still isn't that smart) by shooting a werewolf while the guy is human.   Seriously, if Hageman had just gunned Josh down the morning after the hunt, Hageman would be alive and Josh, not so much.

It would be funny (and very Moffat) to learn at the end of Season 7 that the Doctor's shushing power (1) is the real Silence and (2) threatens the foundations of reality.

1) Put me down for "palimpsest" as the key.   Amberlivia IS Ourlivia, rewritten, and she used her cortexiphan powers to pull Peter back into reality.   Walter has it exactly backward.

2) I don't quite get Peter's pre-September destiny.   He was supposed to be cured by Walternate of Earth-2, but still fall in love with

Totally agree.  "This is Top Chef, not Top Sous Chef!"

I thought this Quickfire was ridiculous.   First, it was random - if you got a master who started in a more visible direction, you were in luck, but if not, tough.   Second, the contestants didn't make their own dishes — the challenge didn't require them to show originality or even particular skill, just not to f- up

Thanks!   It was driving me crazy, and Google wasn't helping at all.

1) There's a classic scene where a woman is under a desk when the guy sitting at the desk (a) shoots a bullet hole in the desk with a concealed gun, then (b) gets shot himself, allowing her to witness the shooter through the bullet hole.   Is it a Leonard story/movie, or am I remembering something else?

I like Quarles a lot.   Like Raylan and Boyd, he's got a set of rules that don't quite fit in.   Raylan's a frontier marshall at heart, Boyd has tried on about a dozen persona and found them all wanting, and Quarles apparently lives his life as Scarface.

I can't see people as smart as Nina or Lee (or Walter!) being impressed by a biometric lock in a world that is known to have two different kinds of undetectable shapeshifters and mirror universe duplicates.

I was going to say — they've had a squid and a whale as houseguests before, and their town was founded by a clam, although I guess none of those really worked out.
