SyFy
Ace Hunter had the best idea - a catering challenge that requires that all dishes feature SyFy monsters, like Mansquito, Sharktopus and various CGI dragons.

Awesome Plot Development Regarding Plots
The end of this episode blew my mind.

I agree that Kevin turning down All-Stars was a missed opportunity. I personally give the edge to Blais, but there's no way to tell without tasting their food.

Marcel's show will benefit from not having honest judges taste his food.

Blais thinks he's the best chef who never won Top Chef. I think so too, but he doesn't have to say it out loud.

Notes
1) I'm developing a love-hate relationship with Blais. Hate: whining, meanness, entitlement. Love: Snark, his judges glare, food.

Brendan Fraser's Career
Why wouldn't he be at peace? I would take Brendan Fraser's career in a heartbeat. I would prefer Clive Owen's, but should Fraser really be depressed that he's only a rich, good looking movie star with steady work? In a few years, he can star in an independent movie and reinvent himself.

To be honest, that's not saying much . . .

Hayden hit it with "heteronormative." Kent may be straight and dating Vyxsin, but if he is, then it's odd that he doesn't show any attraction or affection to her. She may be comfortable without those things, of course, or she may be (knowingly or not) bearding Kent to get on the show.

Hitch hated working with kids or pets, and was directing an eight year old Bill Mumy in an episode of Hitchcock Presents. Mumy wouldn't stand still, and they were running out of the amount of time you were allowed to work a child actor, so if they didn't get the take, they would have to reshoot the next day.

Have you read the story about Hitchcock and Mumy? My favorite piece of Hollywood backstagia ever.

Either way - he's clearly pre-op at best.

My nomination: Bill Munny
from Unforgiven. Playing a recovering alcoholic, Eastwood makes Munny taking his first drink the cinematic equivalent of the Angel of Death coming to town.

Kent & Vyxsin's mistake
. . . was putting the fanny pack on Kent. He clearly didn't have enough fanny to keep it attached.

Bunch of thoughts
1) I loved Nina's awkward encouragement of the couple. She knows that if Peter falls in love with Olivia, her universe is saved, but she has no relevant skill-set to encourage someone to fall in love.

@Lawyer Applegate - bravo!!!

Too funny - Gail's comments on royalty
Gail Simmons, discussing the elimination challenge on Bravo's Q&A:

Royalty
What was the problem with keeping the original dishes? Do junkaroo crews not like fennel butter? Besides, the judges are Tom, Gail, Ripert, and Padma, and they're all pretty much royalty at this point regardless.

Richard says "I hate my food, it's fucking disgusting", but you do NOT want to hear how he feels about Tiffany's food.

Lackluster
I totally agree that this show was more boring than it should be.
