Zack got this one right
It's not terrible for young adult fantasy. It's basically like you took the plot of Jumper, mixed in parts of the setting from Bradbury's Uncle Einar stories and Gaiman's American Gods, and then added a B-story out of a real modern fantasist like Gene Wolfe. If you found a young adult who

I say they all have to cook dishes that make Bethanny seem interesting, then they have to come up with a comedy routine where they make relatively obvious putdowns about b-list celebrities in between laughing at their own jokes.

It's hard to pick a favorite
Any one of these chefs could win the finale if they make it that far and have a good day. Blais is my favorite, but IMHO:

Broyles walks in on Astrid cleaning the lab and comments that she's not using her skills. Then he explains that he needs her to review the Fauxlivia files because his existing experts aren't getting anything. My read from that was that Astrid has a known talent for pattern-matching, but that it didn't pay off in

Parallelism
I love Fringe's parallelism within the story lines. Even when it doesn't work 100%, it still hits.

If the review is naming the actor's most bad-assed roles, then on the Sean Bean list, Sharpe > Boromir.

Sharpe
. . . is ten times as tough as Boromir. If Marcellus Wallace and Sharpe got into a fight, Sharpe would be p**ping chunks of Wallace for days.

Googled it. Marcel's show is "Marcel's Quantum Kitchen", coming soon to the SyFy.

Missed opportunity
Were the Quaids unavailable?

Random comments
1) I loved how mad the judges were at Angelo and Isabella. "You guys made adequate dishes! Grrr! Get the h*ll out of here, you losers!"

Agreed. The challenges have been awesome this season — the producers have really upped their game.

American Dad Opening
I loved that AD copied that Volkswagon ad set to Mr. Blue Sky, mostly because I love that ad.

She identified as Bi in Season One; I'm not sure about now.

Foam Question
Has there been any episode of Top Chef ever where even one judge has said "Hey, great foam!"

This is Top Chef, not Top Maitre'D!

Observations
1. What I love about this season is that literally anyone could win a challenge (maybe even Jaimie), and that as a result, all the chefs need to bring their A game to every elimination challenge. If Isabella or Carla or even Fabio makes it to the final and has a really good day, they could win. It

Marcel was a mild tool for p*ssing on Carla's parade, but throwing the faux-gang signs while confronting Dale about winning last week's challenge is the second tooliest moment in the whole series. (Right behind Ilan giggling as the cool kids attack Marcel).

A lot of these groups were good, but I can't see anyone thinking that MC 900 Foot Jesus was going to start a revolution. He was too quirky, too alternative, and too white to lead anything.

What Family Guy Is Doing
My guess is that Family Guy is using this season and its success to play around. I haven't seen the whole season, but there are a whole BUNCH of the new episodes that aren't like anything before or since.

A few more comments
Now that everyone has gone, I just rewatched this (my wife was out of town Wed; no Bravo in her hotel), and have two more observations.
