Travistan is only a mediocre album, but it still pisses me off how they screwed up his career with that massively over-harsh review. He wrote Emergency & I, for goodness sake. He just happened to release his solo album in the middle of Pitchfork's "burn it down" period and it actually led to stores refusing to stock…
I think of you aren't won over by The Moon and Antarctica, you're never going to be a big fan. That's not good or bad, but it seems true.
I think anyone with the last name Zuckerman needs to mention the conflict of interest when reviewing Roth.
Of course.
Where do you live? We need that event here.
Plus Daniel Tiger is a good show. I'm honestly going to be bummed out when my kids don't want to watch it anymore.
Most of this comment section seems to be jokes, which is fine, but I really do find this completely ridiculous and awful.
Those people should Beloved. The worst thing about slavery isn't the beatings, the rape, the mistreatment. It's that you literally do not have the right to your own selfhood. That's the most destructive thing imaginable. To the extent that most of us literally can't imagine it.
Was coming to say this. He WAS kidding, but who cares? Also, there's question that if those emails did turn up, no matter what the source, he'd use them if they held damaging information.
I know plenty of poor people who proudly game the system but look down on others who do. Who can explain it?
I still like Daredevil a lot. But Netflix JJ is my favorite non-movie Marvel property and I'm a little bummed to have to wait for the next season.
Nintendo Power proper was weird with reviews. Any first-party game got a great score and really thorough review (and, to be fair, most of those WERE pretty great). But I always thought that their reviews were pretty accurate for a magazine run by Nintendo itself. They definitely savaged a few, and they always listed…
My dad used to go to every Galaga machine he could find and get the top high score. That was before I was born though. Dang, dad.
I always liked Mighty Final Fight, with the tiny sprites. Anyone remember that one?
I read this as "four dimensions" and was impressed at your skill.
I actually remember Dragon's Lair getting a bad review from Nintendo Power.
I like this list but I liked your comment because I'm with you 100% on MG&DD. I read the first issue and found it really off-putting for some reason. I found MG sort of grating, I think. Maybe that improves in later issues. Ms Marvel I instantly loved.
There is a pretty good band called The M's. I liked their first EP better than anything after though.
I'm glad someone else doesn't care for the Spurrier books. I never could crack them. And Fargo is masterful.
