I don't think anyone uses baby powder on babies anymore. It's been not recommended for a long time. It doesn't help with diaper rash and there are worries about long term lung problems from inhaling the super fine particles. People use diaper rash cream now.

Not just George and Ringo, but also Klaus Voorman (one of their artist friends from the Hamburg days, who also designed the "Revolver" and (later) "Anthology" covers) played bass.

Ringo only shaved his beard when he joined The Beatles because management made him to keep the clean cut look they were going for at the time. As soon as they had some freedom his was back.

Didn't they basically have a contractual deal wherein George was guaranteed to get to *sing* one song on each album side and Ringo one per album? No songwriting guarantees?

Actually,  the actors union wanted the tapes destroyed (or at least prohibited from re-airing) out of a fear that reruns would discourage the production of new shows. Seriously.

Now BBC News is saying *something* was recovered too:

It was delayed by 80 seconds.

Kinoscopes also have the advantage that they could send the same thing to countries that used NTSC or PAL video.

I'm perfectly fine with the "Space… The final frontier", etc narration at the beginning of the TOS and TNG themes and the wordless melodic singing in the TOS theme. But the theme songs certainly don't need to be pop songs with cheesy lyrics. In fact, they certainly need to not be that.

Does everyone forget that there are two Benny Russell episodes? The second episode of S7, "Shadows and Symbols", also featured him (in a mental institution with Casey Biggs (Damar) as his doctor), albeit only in the back half of the episode and mixed with two other stories.

They were separate books and movies. Nabin did features about them at the Dissolve recently:

As Sean noted, no MTV won't have to pay a fine. Cable is exempt from FCC decency rules. They self police to a degree to avoid tempting congress into regulating them.

Yeah. As a Columbus native, my general feeling election season was always "Dammit. I need to drive on 670*. Stupid [POLITICIAN'S NAME]"

I think the quirk of fate is that it's a small (in area; #34 of 50) but populous (#7 of 50, thus a decent number of electoral votes) that is actually pretty close to a 50/50 R/D split. Iowa and New Hampshire are low population states that want to feel important.

During OSU game I always either stayed in the house (because if you leave game people will park in your spot, even 2 miles from campus) or went to visit my parents who live out by the Licking County line as far from the drunken WOOOOOOOOOO fest as I could reasonably get. I've always said that the proper response if
